Overview

As the classroom is becoming more and more paperless, teachers have to start finding solutions to hand out assignments, manage their classroom, communicate with students, and so on.

Google Classroom is one of the edtech tools offered by Google. It's a platform that ties together Google's G Suite tools for teachers and students. It also acts as a digital organizer where teachers can keep class materials and share them with students -- all paperless-ly. From there, you can pick and choose the features you want to incorporate.

In general, Google Classroom helps teachers and students to communicate and can be used to organize and manage assignments, to go paperless, for collaboration between students and between teachers, for teaching from a distance, and so on!

It's hard to avoid Google's most popular tools -- Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Docs are now staples for getting organized and getting work done. These collaboration-friendly tools have revolutionized the way we communicate, work together, and store information online. That is why we have compiled these tutorials to help teachers and students, benefit from paperless sharing and digital collaboration in classrooms.

Objectives: At the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Streamline how they manage classes.
  • Digitally organize, distribute, and collect assignments, course materials, and student work.
  • Communicate with students about their classwork.
  • Give students timely feedback on their assignments and assessments.

Prerequisite: You must acquire the following before enrolment

  • Basic Computer knowledge, Google Docs, Drive, and Calendar,
  • Knowledge of MS-Word package
  • Internet Browsing Ability
